hello

welcome

Got Mice? Humane Wildlife Services takes a holistic approach to wildlife removal and prevention by getting to the cause of the problem, construction flaws that allow animals access to your home. By addressing these common (and uncommon) problems, we can get your unwanted guests out, FOR GOOD, without the use of traps or poisons. Please watch this quick video for more information on why the approach works where so many others fail.

what we offer

Testimonials

Already dozens of Nova Scotia residents have liberated themselves from the nuisance and damage that these little critters can cause. No more lost sleep, no more heat loss due to damaged insulation and no more lost food and contamination! See what some of our customers have had to say:

"We were referred to GotMice? by one of our members in the valley who was very satisfied with Matt's work. As a rurally-based field station, we thought that having field mice in our building was just a fact of life. Everyone from our board of directors to summer researchers staying here for the summer was really excited about what GotMice? had to offer and although we had to do some fundraising to afford the solution, it has been well worth it! Without traps or poisons (a real ecological problem for owls, hawks, and other predators) Matt's professional approach to solving the root problem has resulted in a much cleaner, safer, and (at night) quieter building! We totally recommend his services for homes and businesses who have GotMice."
Amanda Lavers - Executive Director, Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute

"I got in touch with Got Mice after hearing odd noises in our basement ceiling at night for a couple of weeks. And when we weren't hearing things our cat certainly was, she would stare up at the ceiling for ages! We stay in an older house and I was worried if it was mice or something similar they could be chewing on wires and causing all sorts of problems. I didn't want to kill them and I didn't want more to keep getting in, so we hired Got Mice and their service was excellent. Matt came and checked round the outside of the house and found all sorts of ways in for mice that we had no idea were there. He did his thing and within a couple of weeks there were no more noises we could hear and the cat stopped being fixated by the ceiling! A month or so later we discovered a bonus part of the service; no more basement bees! In previous years at a particular time of year we would keep finding large bees in the basement. Once all the mouse holes had been dealt with, there were also no routes in for the bees!
I would highly recommend Got Mice to anyone with a mouse problem; it's totally humane and fixes the problem long term."

Isobel H, Canning

"In July I found that I had some mice in my house and I had noticed posters around my neighbourhood from Got Mice. We called Matt and he was able to come quite quickly to do a free estimate. After he surveyed the situation, he gave me 3 options to chose from, good, better and best, he also showed me pictures where he thought the mice were getting in. After choosing the best ( 5 year warranty ) he quickly came and installed the 1 way door system and plugged all the holes. He called during the next 6 weeks to check on things and then returned and took the doors away. I've never heard or seen any mice since then and I'm very grateful for his professionalism, his expertise and care in getting a job done well. I would have no problem in endorsing him or his product.
Thanks again Matt."

how we work

Process

1

INSPECT

The first step is a property evaluation. This thorough inspection can take anywhere from one to three hours (sometimes longer!). We identify active entry points, potential entry points, and common problem areas that may become a problem in the future. Within our main service areas, this is a $50 visit.

2

DISCUSS

Once the evaluation is complete, we will discuss our options, and what is possible with your home. Is it possible to animal proof your home? What wildlife has made it in to your home? A proper inspection will sometimes surprise you! Got Mice? is happy to work with your budget, so that we can work together so that you can stop worrying about your unwanted guests.

3

THE WORK

Animal-proofing an entire home can take some time. Work is measured and priced by the home, on site, and the price is held on guaranteed work. If we missed it, why should you pay more?

4

GUARANTEE

All work is guaranteed. Small jobs are guaranteed at all serviced areas, so if something goes wrong or doesn't seem right, Got Mice? Humane Wildlife Services will return to reinspect. If you have a full guarantee, we will keep coming back until we figure it out. If a new problem comes up, we will solve it using the same methods you have already seen in action. If the work fails, we will make it right.

About Matt

Building on a BScH in Physical Geography, environmental and energy concerns led me into the Electromechanical Technology followed by the Construction Technology programs at Holland College. I continued with programs in Green Building and Sustainable Design through UMASS at Sirius Ecovillage and Building Analysis through the Center for Ecotechnology. During that period I also sought out a work study term with an alternative builder building an off-grid home (modeled on "earthship" designs) with an entirely passive heating and cooling system and led workshops and skill-sharing on topics dealing with the environment, energy and the economy.
I spent four years learning how things should be done, and then four years in insulation sales and pest control helping to fix the things that are actually done.
Our family relocated to the Annapolis Valley for a simpler life, and to be closer to our family with our two children and two dogs.
